The Alan Shearer Centre Short Break Service
Alan Shearer visited the Centre to officially open the Short Break Service on Tuesday 9 October 2007. Once the home of Victorian entrepreneurs and bishops, West Denton Hall is now a centre for short break holidays for disabled children from age eight upwards and for adults (at different times). The upper floor of the former manor house, now the Alan Shearer Centre, has been converted to provide a unique holiday experience for guests in the care of staff trained in looking after people with all forms of disability. ![]() Guests can take advantage of the unique opportunity to access the on-site sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pool, sound and vision suite and take part in organised activities at the Centre. There are eight en-suite bedrooms equipped with colour televisions, plus an additional four bedrooms available for children and a communal lounge and dining area looking out onto open views across the landscaped gardens and lawn. Prices are from £200 per night.
