How to get to the Alan Shearer Centre

By Car from the A1
Take the turning for the A69 signposted towards Hexham, off the A1 motorway.
Pass under two footbridges, after the second bridge there is a slip road signposted Lemington, take this up to the roundabout and take your 1st exit onto Union Hall Road signposted Lemington Cemetery & Village.
Turn left at the 1st set of traffic lights onto West Denton Road signposted Claremont Avenue and continue on this road all the way
down into the entrance for the Centre.

By Bus from Newcastle City Centre
There is a bus stop outside the Centre. Numbers 10, 13, 39, 40,

and X82 stop here. Ask for St Vincent's or the stop before
Lemington Road Ends


By Train
Newcastle Central is the nearest station. There are taxi ranks outside the station or you can take bus number 10 (see above)

LinkUp provides journeys at times when regular services are not operating or where direct services are not available. Nexus has created 16 areas throughout Tyne & Wear.
Passengers must call to book LinkUp for any journey providing it is within one of these areas.

TaxiLink
TaxiLink is a door to door service, using accessible taxis.
The service has to be booked in advance. To qualify for the TaxiLink
you will have to be in receipt of one of the following:
• High Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living AllowanceNexus Taxi link to the Alan Shearer Centre
• Attendance Allowance; or are
• Registered as severely visually impaired or blind.
