How to get to the
Alan Shearer Centre

By Car from the A1

Take the turning for the A69 signposted towards Hexham, off the A1 motorway.

Pass under two footbridges, after the second bridge there is a slip road signposted Lemington, take this up to the roundabout and take your 1st exit onto Union Hall Road signposted Lemington Cemetery & Village.

Turn left at the 1st set of traffic lights onto West Denton Road signposted Claremont Avenue and continue on this road all the way down into the entrance for the Activity Centre Campus.This will be on your right just prior to the end of the road.

By Bus from Newcastle City

There is a bus stop outside the Activity Centre Campus, numbers 10, 13, 39, 40, 684 and X82 stop here. (Ask for St Vincent's or the stop before Lemington Road Ends)

By Train

Train to Newcastle Central station then taxi or bus number 10 (see above)
By Taxi

There are taxi ranks outside the Central Station

TaxiLink is a door to door service, using accessible taxis. The service has to be booked in advance. To qualify for the TaxiLink you will have to be in receipt of one of the following:
• High Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance
• Attendance Allowance; or are
• Registered as severely visually impaired or blind.
